GREETINGS FROM PRESIDENT CLINTON I want to thank you for the outpouring of birthday greetings and generous gifts in support of my Foundation in honor of my 64th birthday. I was so pleased to hear that 2,600 individuals helped us exceed the $50,000 goal for matching donations, meaning more than $228,000 will go toward our important work to address the most pressing challenges of our world.

Shared Vision: A Partnership to Provide Cataract Surgeries in Peru August is Cataract Awareness Month in the United States, calling attention to the debilitating effects of cataracts on populations both here and abroad. While cataracts are relatively inexpensive to treat, they are the leading cause of blindness in the developing world, where many communities lack access to basic health services. The Clinton Giustra Sustainable Growth Initiative is providing the resources for 50,000 cataract surgeries over four years. Read more >
Commitment in Action: Room to Read In 2010, Room to Read celebrated the completion of its first CGI commitment when it opened its 10,000th library, located in Nepal. With its programs in Asia and Africa, Room to Read has helped improve literacy for 5 million children. Through a new CGI commitment, Room to Read aims to double its impact yet again by reaching more than 10 million children with quality programming by 2015. Read more >
